Play to win: Skill-based cash tournaments the key to unlocking extra revenue:
Today's mobile game industry exists in a time warp.
On the one hand, the design work featured in today's games far exceeds anything we could have imagined just a couple years ago.
When it comes to monetisation, however, we're still living in the Dark Ages.
The mobile games market operates like a third-world economy in which the top 25 developers take in half of all the income and only around 5 percent of app developers make more than $20,000 per month.
According to AppPromo, 59 percent of apps don't even generate enough revenue to break-even.

Why You Don’t Burn Out on Candy Crush Saga
Why You Don’t Burn Out on Candy Crush Saga:
Okay, everybody. I did it. I played Candy Crush Saga. I did it for science.
With over 66 million players, Candy Crush Saga (CCS) is easily the most popular game on Facebook, Android, and iOS. And so I felt that I needed to know something about it. Perhaps if you’ve also played it, those numbers surprise you given how habit forming it’s designed to be. But it’s probably worth noting up front that Candy Crush Saga owes a lot of its success to its quality. It’s super polished, looks great, sounds great, feels great. Whatever criticisms one may levy against it, quality isn’t one of them.
