RAPTR’S MOST PLAYED GAMES: NOVEMBER 2013 — CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS VERSUS BATTLEFIELD 4

RAPTR’S MOST PLAYED GAMES: NOVEMBER 2013 — CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS VERSUS BATTLEFIELD 4:
All hail our new Most Played overlord, Call of Duty: Ghosts, which bested Grand Theft Auto V by 1/100th of a share point even though it wasn’t on sale for the whole month (launched on November 5). We’ll see if it can hold — it’s tracking about 35% lower than Call of Duty: Black Ops II so far, though some of that is due to part of the playerbase moving to next-gen consoles.

Note: This list, based on playtime data from Raptr’s 19+ million users, includes PC and Xbox 360 games only — Sony and Nintendo don’t let players share gameplay data publicly. We can’t track Xbox One or PlayStation 4 gameplay time or achievements/trophies yet, but we’re working to change that. PC gamers must run the Raptr Desktop App or associate their Steam ID with Raptr to track playtime.

The Share number by each game represents that title’s gameplay time as a percentage of the total time spent on all the PC and Xbox 360 games played by Raptr members, and is useful for comparing the relative amount of playtime between particular games.

Assassin's Creed Pirates review: Yo ho ho and a bottle of fun

Assassin's Creed Pirates review: Yo ho ho and a bottle of fun:
Assassin's Creed Pirates is misleading. For one, it doesn't have to be called Assassin's Creed. The only thing that's in common with the series is the inclusion of pirates and ship battles, but that's all Assassin's Creed Pirates is: pirate ship battles. There's no assassinating. There's not parkour. None. Zippo. Zilch. What there is, though, are pirate ship battles, loot and pirate hymns.
You play as pirate captain on the up-and-up Alonzo Batilla. After a few tutorial missions, earning a new ship and learning combat, you're off on your own across multiple open maps as you search for a legendary treasure. Honestly, the story doesn't matter. It's there to just measure progress.

Clash of Clans now worlds’ top grossing game in GooglePlay

Clash of Clans now worlds’ top grossing game in GooglePlay:
Within two months of its launch, Clash of Clans became the worlds’ top grossing game in the Playstore based on November revenues. On its climb to the top, SuperCell’s game exceeded the revenues of Candy Crush, despite having averaged only one fifth of CandyCrush’ download numbers. GooglePlay now accounts for approximately one third of the total money generated by Clash of Clans. On iOS devices last month, Candy Crush had slightly more than double the number of downloads than Clash of Clans.

The lead that Candy Crush maintains on iOS devices secures its number one position overall across app stores. The recently launched Candy Crush for Kakao version has pushed the game to over $1.3 million a day, which means King is taking home about $1m a day.

A year ago, the combined sales for PC and console DLC totaled $230 million. The social and mobile game categories grew by a few percentage points month-over-month, even as its top earners show no sign of weakness.
